I like my new neighborhood. It is busy but not crowded. There is a surprising density of delicious bakeries and patisseries with beautiful displays and when you buy a treat they tie it up in a tasteful little box for you. There is good sushi within a couple blocks and more than 2 options for late night food. I have been patronizing the hardware store and they're nice in there. Its fun to be close to the metro, both for taking it and for watching all the people come out of it. I've been walking most everywhere and really enjoy seeing all the different people. I wonder who everyone is and where they are going and if we might be friends if we got to talking. When the wind blows you can tell we are right on the water. It is so bewildering to move to a completely new place. It took my brain several days to comprehend what my street and block were like. In the next couple of weeks, I will be walking further and in more directions.
